    Portia Griffin ... fuuuuuuuunky Deva ...and the coolest hang. We always did great work together, Portia did backgrounds on lots of my production work - she is a PRO !! .. The Commodores being the first when I landed in LA in the late eighties. Cece Winans etc etc. We also toured all over Europe in 97 opening for Luther Vandross together as the band for the Brigette McWilliams project.
    We got busy on that gig. Luther was giving us props every night. It was a bomb band.

    Portia could always tear up any tune you threw at her and quickly, she could put her own stamp on it, or channel a little Chaka for you if you were looking for that... being that Chaka is one of my all time favorite singers and I'd channel her often in my songwriting - Portia could follow my lead effortlessly.

    As far as I'm aware, Portia still tours the world as an artist and has also performed with the legendary Jeffrey Osborne amongst others big names for years.

    Always a pleasure to work with ... cause she's "funkier than a mosquito's tweeter" :)     ... more
